Why I'm running
“I am running for re-election for the 39th Guam Legislature because I want to continue to fight for the people of Guam, as I have always done throughout my life and career as a public servant. If re-elected as a senator in the 39th Guam Legislature, I will continue to be a voice in this body for those who feel unheard and unacknowledged. Guam is our home, and it is my job to represent the best interests of our people by ensuring government revenue is spent correctly, transparently, and free from the influence of special interests to ensure a better future for all those who call Guam their ho”

Senator Telo Taitague is a daughter of Guam and public servant, serving in the 30th, 35th, 36th, 37th, and 38th Guam Legislatures. Her leadership roles include Deputy General Manager of the Guam Visitors Bureau, Director of the Bureau of Women’s Affairs, and Special Assistant to Governor Eddie B. Calvo for External Affairs and Legislative Liasson. Currently, Senator Taitague is the Chairperson of the Committee on Economic Investment, Military Buildup, Regional Relations, Technology, Regulatory Affairs, Justice, Elections, and Retirement. She prioritizes fiscal discipline, transparency, accountability, and cost-of-living issues. As a public servant, Senator Taitague draws on her broad and diverse experience to fight for and serve the people of Guam.
The biggest issue facing Guam
The biggest issue facing Guam right now is difficult to narrow down. Our economy remains in recovery with our tourist visitation numbers lower than pre-pandemic levels. Guam is also in the midst of a housing crisis, with a nearly 10,000 unit shortage amidst a burgeoning military buildup and rising geopolitical tensions paired with increases to the cost of living and shifting federal funding priorities. Guam’s aging infrastructure, agencies, and hospital continue to compromise our people, signaling our need to harden, centralize, and modernize to keep pace with the needs of a growing population
The first 100 days
In my first 100 days as Senator, I will work toward securing funding for our Office of Technology so they may begin and implement their plan to modernize their agency, centralize information technology under their office. By funding OTECH, we will be able to better defend against cyberattacks which significantly impact government services and have resulted in the theft of millions of dollars, streamline government services in cost saving manner, revolutionize healthcare in Guam with emerging technology.
